The holidays are almost upon us, and gift-giving season is most definitely here.
I'm a big fan of giving homemade gifts to friends and family. There's something about the time and thought that goes into making something from scratch, that makes a homemade gift extra special.
You might be thinking there's just not enough time left to do a homemade gift, but there is! Over the next few days, we'll be sharing some of our quick and easy, DIY gift ideas that take a minimal amount of effort and time.
First up, DIY sugar scrubs!

Sugar scrubs are something that you don't really think about too often, until I have some on hand. And then I use it CONSTANTLY. These are amazing, especially in the winter when skin gets dry and needs extra attention. You can keep a jar by the sink, or even in the shower for daily exfoliating.
Sugar Scrub Recipe:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil (olive, coconut, or almond)
20-30 drops essential oils (see notes below)
Pour sugar in a bowl. Slowly add the oil, stirring to reach desired consistency. You don't want it dry, but you also don't want it too "soupy". Once you've achieved your desired texture, distribute among half pint or 1/4 pint size jars. Label and decorate with ribbon, stickers, etc.
Notes:
You can use whatever blend of essential oils smells good to you! Just be sure you want a TOTAL of 20-30 drops of essential oils. Here are some of my favorite combinations:
Lavender & lemon
Lemon, grapefruit, & orange
Bergot, patchouli, & ylang ylang
Peppermint & lemon
Cinnamon, frankincense, & orange
That's it, super easy! Stay tuned for more easy DIY gift ideas.
